HI! I’m Deb I’m an artist with a bad case of wanderlust! A dreamer with a gypsy heart. My favorite things? The song of a Meadow Lark on a beautiful spring day, big white fluffy clouds that look like carnival animals and clear starry nights in the summer time. And my most favorite of all is the wonderful adventure that it has been raising my adorable children!

Getting Ready for a Garage Sale

Getting ready for the Garage Sale
Advertise, advertise! This is a key to the success of any garage or yard sale. There are several online garage sale sites that will let you post about your garage sale. Many are free. Sites like Garage Sale Tracker, runs specials for free advertising.Newspapers and neighborhood handouts are also a good idea. Let your neighbors know that you are having a garage sale, this will let them know there will be increased traffic during your sale, but it will also give them a chance to decide to do a sale also. Their advertising for their sale can help you increase extra traffic.Choose your items, then decide a reasonable price for them.Clean merchandise sells better and gets a better price than something that is dirty.Clearly mark the items that you want a little more for. That helps you to not make snap decisions when someone asks for a price.Items like small children's toys can be put into a box marked for $.25. This is a good idea for things that you want to make sure that you move.Place a box of items marked "FREE" near to front of your sale. This may encourage people to stop that may normally pass by a yard sale.Have available extension cords so that buyers can try out electronics or electrical appliances.A variety of batteries on hand can also assure a buyer buying battery operated items.Make your garage sale fun. Many times a buyer will come back with a friend.Group similar items together to maximize the buyers experience. These are a few ideas to help you add to the success of your yard or garage sale.
