Junk and Flea Market Source Guide.
I have a great idea that I think will be a great way to share the best of Junk Markets and Flea Markets. Please leave me a comment of where your favorite flea markets are. Let's see if together we can build a resource for people around the country who would like to visit one in our area. I look forward to your input on creating a site that we can all enjoy.

Great Flea Market Find
Just in time for Valentine's Day! I found this wonderful bead necklace at a local thrift store. It has vintage styling, however I do not know the age of this necklace. I love the bead color combination, I think I will salvage the beads for a fun and colorful charm bracelet.

Garage Sale Tracker
Hope you will find this useful. This is a website that helps you track garage sales in your area. Not only can you find garage sales, you can post about your garage sale. There are some posts with helpful hints for having a successful garage sale of your own. This site was interesting to visit and I picked up a few extra ideas that I will implement on my moving sale. Also while you are there checkout the coupons for extra savings when you are shopping at a retailer. Good luck and leave them a note to let them know you read about their site on my blog. Garage Sales
We still have snow outside and it is so cold. Occasionally the sun peeks out just long enough to tease us about spring. Spring weekends are often spent shopping at garage sales. I love looking for great bargains! At the end of the day looking over my treasures is a fun part of the weekend.
I am personally holding a garage sale next weekend. Wish me luck as I take on the big job of cleaning out the garage.

The French Inspired Home

It never ceases to amaze me of all of the wonderful ideas people have using flea market finds. There is a certain feeling that things give when they are worn with time and use. I believe it to be a feeling of familiarity and comfort. I think oft times these items add a soothing sense that though time continues to move, we can go with it and still have real value.
I like to post about some of my favorite books and places to shop for vintage finds. Before we know it, it will be time for the first garage sales of the year and the flea markets will be bursting with items to be discovered. Leave me a comment and let me know where you look for your finds. Together we will build a guide so that it can be shared with our friends who like to wander though those timeless treasures.

Holiday Time

We are all so busy now that the holidays are here. I am loving all of the vintage and flea market styling in todays holiday decorating. Here is a photo from The Way Life used to be. Averyl has so many wonderful images available on her website. She will make you feel that you have just been saving vintage images for years. Be sure to visit her web site http://www.hillstock.com/greetings/retro-christmas-stickers.html Using what you have with a new twist makes decorating for Christmas so much fun. I spend a lot of time in thrift stores and flea markets always looking for an item or two to add to my collection. Right now it is vintage snowflake pins. I am just adding them to my Etsy shop. A computer virus has made this a slow process but I will share with you what I have so far. Thank you for stopping in. Deb

Flea Market Vintage Finds for Crafting
Look how amazing this little pocket envelope turned out. Lori Gardner made this fun project from vintage items found in flea markets. The tiny little tag was made from the page of a very old album then cut on her Cricut machine and attached with a mini wooden clothespin also found at a flea market. The black and white paper is old vintage embossed wallpaper. This clever little notepad was made from old sheet music. It is just right for making little scratch notes or possible it could become a mini album. She added a white vintage flower button for trim and there you have it something old is new again. Be sure to stop at my blog Cottage in the Country for more information on this project. Deb
Vintage Finds
I have said before that some things are just more beautiful with age. I am at that place in my life where I find beauty in things that have aged gracefully.
I want to put a thought out to you, "Good taste knows no price tag". Old, beautiful and an unmentionable price tag. You can keep the age and price to yourself. Over the next few months we will talk about how to shop flea markets and where to find the good stuff. We will also talk about what to do with that item once you truck it home. Happy Hunting and we will talk soon. Pleases feel free to leave me questions about your flea market items and I will see how I can help you. Deb
